Bretten–Anne obtained her Fine Arts Degree from Rhodes University in 1991 and went on to complete a Higher Diploma in Art Education with three distinctions in 1994. Her work varies from figurative and contemporary images to commissions for clients. B A Moolman feels strongly about natural and social injustices and reflects upon this in her works. She has an inherent love for the landscape as the Karoo was her stomping ground in her youth. Her works are in private collections nationally and abroad. She has held seven solo exhibitions, the most recent being Fragments of Land at the William Humphreys National Gallery, Kimberley 2016 She runs private art classes for students and adults from her business and studio at Art on Target, 2 Target Kloof, Essexvale in Port Elizabeth. My youth was spent climbing mountains, collecting interesting stones, and bits and pieces on farms, this fostered my love for the landscape and the people who dwell in it. My experience participating in the Ultimate Braai Master TV series in 2014 and travelling 7000km s around South Africa over a period of two months has been a major influence on my current perception of the South African landscape and people, its wealth of colour and diversity. As a fine artist the challenge has always been to create a work that is true to my perceptions, may it be a thing of beauty or a message about human interaction/ intrusion in the landscape.” BA
